Kassandra Terminus

A STAGED READING

Our newly launched reading series is an extension of Sowelu Story Labs — a program for developing original productions, mentoring writers, and exploring new directions in theater and film. Readings slated for this year include original works by Luke Heyerman, Daniel Hill, Nan Gatchel, and more. Encounter various stages of the writing process, from first-look drafts curated from our Writers Workshops to fully staged readings such as Tania Myren's Kassandra Terminus.

Author in Attendance

Join Tania Myren and Sowelu Dramatic for a unique take on the story of Kassandra, Trojan princess whose gift for prophecy was matched only by the curse that none would believe her. Tania Myren's new play, Kassandra Terminus, takes place in the flash of the moment of Kassandra's death as Kassandra, the guard of her tomb and 3 crows engage in a conflict relevant to past, present and future.

The staged reading is part of a development workshop in preparation for a full production of the play in Spring 2018. Directed by Barry Hunt. Featuring actors Lorraine Bahr, Kelly Tallent, Daniel Hill, Nan Gatchel, Michael Fetters, and Dillon Graves. Original score by Leviticus Appleton. Funded in part by Ronni Lacroute.
